San Antonio Union School District
 (55% VOTER APPROVAL REQUIRED)
Measure A

“To upgrade/renovate classrooms and school facilities and improve the quality of education with funding that cannot be taken by the State, shall San Antonio Union School District construct new school/support facilities, upgrade existing infrastructure, improve student access to computers and modern technology, enhance safety/security, upgrade/replace outdated utility systems, acquire, construct, repair classrooms and facilities/equipment by issuing $2,100,000 of bonds at legal rates, with independent citizens’ oversight, annual audits, and no money for administrative salaries?”

Pursuant to provisions of the California Elections Code, primary arguments in favor of or against measures must be submitted in writing to the Monterey County Elections office by 5:00 pm, on or before March 18, 2016.  Rebuttal arguments by authors of said primary arguments may be filed with the applicable office in like manner by 5:00 pm, on or before March 28, 2016. 

Cabrillo Community College District
 (55% VOTER APPROVAL REQUIRED)
Measure Q

“CABRILLO COLLEGE TECHNOLOGY, JOB TRAINING, CLASSROOM REPAIR MEASURE. To repair/upgrade classrooms to better prepare students, veterans, workers for good jobs/university transfer by upgrading aging classrooms, technology/science labs, repairing outdated, deteriorating wiring, sewer lines, improving campus safety, handicapped accessibility, increasing water conservation/energy efficiency, and acquiring, constructing, repairing sites/facilities/equipment, shall Cabrillo Community College District issue $310,000,000 in bonds at legal rates, no funding administrators’ salaries/pensions, requiring independent audits, and all funds used locally?”

 

City of Salinas
Salinas Charter Amendment
(MAJORITY VOTER APPROVAL REQUIRED)
Measure B

“Shall the City of Salinas City Charter be amended to: 1) repeal requirements to competitively bid the construction of public improvements valued above $50,000 and obtain two-thirds prior voter approval for the establishment of certain utilities, thereby empowering the City Council to regulate such matters; and 2) update and reorganize the Charter to delete obsolete provisions, resolve contradictions, conform to current law and make it more user friendly?”

 

 

City of Salinas
Fireworks Initiative
(MAJORITY VOTER APPROVAL REQUIRED)
Measure C

“Shall the City of Salinas adopt an ordinance allowing for the possession, use, storage, sale and display of fireworks; imposing social host liability associated with the possession and use of fireworks; and requiring Public Safety Operation Plans and After Action Reports?”
