VOTE BY MAIL

Any registered voter may vote by mail. Voters who wish to vote by mail may apply in person or by mail. An application for an Vote By Mail ballot will be printed on the back of your sample ballot.

Vote By Mail ballots may be returned by mail prior to the election or delivered to any polling place in Monterey County on election day.
Vote By mail ballots that are mailed must be postmarked on or before Election Day and received by Monterey County Elections no later than 3 days after Election Day. If you are not sure your vote by mail ballot will arrive in time if mailed, bring it to any polling place in our county between 7:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m. on Election Day.

Overseas Voters

If you are temporarily living in a foreign country, or if you are in the military or a government employee stationed outside the United States and we already have either your foreign country address or your overseas military address (with an AA, AE or AP state designation) on file, then you do not need to apply for an absentee ballot. All overseas residents and all overseas military and government personnel and dependents will be sent an absentee ballot automatically for every election.
