Early Voting

Early Voting begins 29 days before an election. Voters may come to the Monterey County Elections Department at 1441 Schilling Place North Building in Salinas. Here they may pick up a vote by mail ballot or use our touch screen voting machine that can help voters with sight and mobility impairments.

Standard office hours are Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

On Election Day, we are open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Additional voting hours may be offered in larger elections.  For more information please call us at 831-796-1499 or see the Frequently Asked Questions page about voting by mail.
