Section 508 requires that all Web site content be equally accessible to people with disabilities. This applies to Web applications, Web pages and all attached files. Monterey County Election Department is continually revising all documents and elements of the website to follow the Section 508 guidelines.

The World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) has created the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) that we use for the development of this site.

508 and W3C standards promote all coherent navigation, legible presentation, complimentary colors, and consistent layout. These are traits that benefit all users.
