What is left to count?

Gonzales Special Tax Measure Election

August 30, 2022

As of September 7, 2022, all ballots that have been returned to the Monterey County Elections Department have been processed.

The total “what’s left to count” continues to update as we receive vote by mail ballots in the mail that are postmarked by Election Day. By law, ballots postmarked by Election Day, will be accepted until the 7th day after the election.

Further, the number will change as we receive signatures from those voters who failed to sign the envelope or whose signature did not match the signature on file. Voters who have received a notice regarding a missing or mismatched signature have until two days before certification to return their signature statement.

Number of ballots with no signature: 1

Number of ballots with non-matching signature: 3

The Department is scheduled to certify election results by Friday, September 9, 2022.
